Librada Chacon Rivera, 68, a resident of Deming, NM entered eternal rest on Monday, November 27, 2023 in Deming. Librada was born on August 22, 1955 in Ascension, Chihuahua, Mexico to Manuel Chacon and Martha Arroyos. She is survived by her three sons, Cesar Chacon of Deming, NM; Jose Alberto Rivera of Tucson, AZ and Jesus Manuel Rivera and his wife Alondra of Deming, NM; two daughters, Lorena of Deming, NM and Ana Laura Villagomez and her husband Rafael of Santa Ana, CA; three brothers, Martin Chacon and his wife Sincia of Glendale, AZ; Feliciano Chacon and his wife Sandra of Farmington, NM and Jose Angel Chacon of Deming, NM; five sisters, Manuela Garcia and her husband Ramon of Deming, NM; Maria de Rosario Campos and her husband Jesus Ramiro of Phoenix, AZ; Maria Concepcion Chacon of Phoenix, AZ and Concepcion Chacon of Palomas, Mex.; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Overnight vigil will be on Friday, December 1, 2023 beginning at 5pm at the family home ~ 512 S. Calle Ricardo St. with the holy rosary beginning at 6pm with Maria S. Lozano officiating. Funeral mass will be on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 9am at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father, Prakasham Babu officiating. Concluding services with an interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Cesar Chacon, Jose Alberto Rivera, Jesus Rivera, Martin Chacon, Jose Chacon and Gumaro Calderon. The funeral service will be live on our Facebook page. James Wood, 68, of Deming, New Mexico, entered into eternal rest on November 12th on his ranch. James, “Jim”. graduated from Cloudcroft High School in 1973. He went on to become an electrician and own Wood Electric inc. He married the love of his life Susan Wood in 1978. After many years in the electric business, he decided to follow his dreams and purchased the Wood Cattle Company ranch in Deming, NM, moving there in 1997. James continued to build dreams for his family, wanting his grandsons to have a strong foundation to grow from. His grandsons were his world and every minute he got to spend with them brought him so much love and happiness. James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan Wood, his daughter and son Jodie and John Bookout, his grandsons Riley, Reuben, Ryder, Ryndon, and Rance, all of Deming, NM, his brother Jess (Carol) Wood of Kiowa, Colorado, sister Cindy (Terry) Buttram of Alamogordo, NM, sister Kathy Grant of Fort Worth, TX, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Jedidiah Wood and his parents Carrol and Edna Wood. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 8:30am-9:30am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the funeral service beginning at 9am with Rick Holdridge officiating. Concluding services with an interment will be at Mountain Acres Cemetery in Mayhill, NM at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southwest New Mexico State Fair Livestock Department. Hurley longtime Deming resident passed from this life on October 22, 2023, at his home.
Mike was born on September 11, 1947, at Station Hospital, Eglin Field, Florida to Richard Munro and Margret M. (Deloney) Hurley. Michael served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He was employed for many years with Alan Ritchey Inc and drove many miles before retiring. He was predeceased by his wife, Yvette (Hays) Hurley, his parents and a brother. He is survived by his daughter, grandchildren, extended family and friends. He will be missed by those left behind as he had an uplifting spirit and infectious smile. John Alvin Sigman, 70, a resident of Deming, NM entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his residence. John was born on September 8, 2023 to Ray Sigman and Betty Ruth (Moseley) Sigman in Santa Rita, NM. John was a mechanic until the mid 80’s. He then purchased a pizza restaurant named “Pepperoni’s Pizza” in Mansfield, TX. John owed and operated the restaurant until 1994 when he decided to sell the restaurant and move back home to Deming, NM. He then became a volunteer sheriff deputy and rose to the rank of lieutenant in the reserves and was in charge of the Reserve Transport Division. John was an avid Hunter and mostly hunted with muzzle loaders. Even while living in TX, John would come home to Deming every year and go hunting with his family. John also loved riding his motorcycles almost as much as hunting but, most importantly John loved spending time with his grandchildren and attended as many school functions as he could. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by three sons, Zach Sigman and his wife Priscilla of Deming, NM; Brent Sigman of NC and Jonathan Sigman of Deming, NM; one sister, Deloris Swope of Deming, NM; thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Carolyn Sigman and two brothers, Don and Elbert RC Sigman. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 2pm with Paul Offutt officiating at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels. Jose Arroyo Perales, 37, a resident of Deming, NM entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 22, 2023 in Deming. Jose was born on July 25, 1986 in Sain Alto, Zacatecas, Mexico to Jose Arroyo and Elodia Perales. He is survived by both of his parents; his wife, Rosalinda Arroyo; two sons, Irvin Salas and Jose Arroyo both of Deming, NM; three daughters, Asuzena Arroyo, Alondra Ruby Arroyo and Joselyn Guadalupe Arroyo all of Deming, NM; two brothers, Juan Antonio Arroyo and his wife Rosa Moreno of Deming, NM and Emmanuel Arroyo also of Deming, NM; two sisters, Rosa Erica Arroyo and her husband Lino Alberto Martinez of Deming, NM and Vanessa Garcia and her husband Manuel Gumaro Garcia also of Deming, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5:30-6pm with the holy rosary beginning at 6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10am at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father, Aloysius Orekie officiating. Concluding services with an interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
