Barbara Ann Slider, 79, a resident of Deming, NM went into eternal rest on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her residence. Barbara was born on January 13, 1938 in Fort Ticonderoga, New York to Leroy Mather and Agnus Nichols. For everyone who knew grandma knew how much she loved her family, her pets and humming birds. She had so many stories and love to share. Her stories ranged from her meeting my grandpa to her getting in trouble with her brothers and sisters. When we were kids and we would go over she was strict. No feet on couch, no cup without coaster, and no misbehaving. As we grew older she changed like the world did around her. She went from strict grandma to cussing at me for winning a game of cribbage. She turned sitting on couch with no feet into laughs of joy while kicking back.

Well grandma you have now joined your parents, your brother and your sister we are going to miss you. Like Ryan stated "heaven got another angel today, even if She has to kick the down the gate to get in." She gave my brothers and myself a pin that stated "Never drive faster than your guardian angel can drive" Your our guardian angel now, so I won't drive faster than you can fly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Arthur Lee Slider; one daughter, Leeann M. Willey and husband Jerry of Deming, NM; two brothers, Charles Mather of Deming, NM, and Leroy Mather Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Nancy Mather Smith of Lubbock, TX; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Ashton, William, Ryan, Amanda, Tanner, and Amber; seven great grandchildren, Victoria, Colben, Payton, Bailey, Elexis, Roselynn and Cody and one great-great grandchild, Brentley. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; one brother, Allen Mather; and one sister, Mary Lou Moorehouse.

Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels & Crematory.
