Dusty Lee Read, 36, passed away November 19, 2021 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah after a long battle with heart problems.

Dusty was born July 20, 1985 in Deming, New Mexico to Stacey Hays. He attended Deming Highschool where he enjoyed FFA and 4H. His youth was spent showing animals in the fair, fishing, and teaching his sisters to hunt. After graduating Dusty moved to Oklahoma where he worked and made lifelong friends. After a few years in Oklahoma Dusty joined the United States Navy and spent 4 years traveling the world and defending our freedom. After being honorably discharged from the Navy Dusty came home to Deming to spend time with his family. He worked with his dad at the family business. Every week Dusty used all his extra money to spoil his niece Carlie, Kylie, and Gracelyn. Any spare moment Dusty could find was spent fishing, coyote hunting or reloading with his brother-in-law and best friend Chris Griffith. A few years down the road he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to be closer to doctors and medical resources following his heart transplant. Dusty had good years in Utah with new friends and loved ones. He spent his last days doing what he loved, fishing and hunting, and shooting. Dusty always helped anyone in need, and made sure his family was taken care of. He was caring, an amazing listener, and passionate about things he held dear in his heart. His memory will be kept alive by his parents Curtis and Stacey; his sisters, JaNeil Crawford, Crystal Griffith and her husband Chris, and Jessica Rickman and her husband Cooper; his fiancé, Nataleigh Barlow; his nieces Carlie Rose, Kylie Jack, Gracelyn Paige, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Nellie Hays (Mammie) and Robbie Jo Crawford (Granny). Forever missed but never forgotten.

Anthony Richard Subia, 46, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho, NM. Anthony was born and raised in Riverside, CA where he became a father of four at a young age, two girls and two boys. In 2004 he followed his two older daughters to Grant County and never went back. That day Grant County gained a respectful, kind hearted, humble individual. Anthony was truly one of a kind, and anyone who knew him would say the same. Once he befriended you there was no getting rid of him, and who would want to. He never spoke bad about anyone and would help you out as best he could. Anthony was a family guy. Those who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him would tell you that his kids were the most important thing in his life. They were his sole purpose of living. He would do anything for his children. He was the best Dad and friend anyone could ask for. While here in Grant County he fathered three more children, two daughters and a son. Seeing Anthony with his kids and to see the happiness of being a father would bring warmth to anyone’s heart.

Anthony worked for Sun Valley Hardware for most of his time here. Not only was his customer service awesome; but also his ability to repair small engine equipment. He explained his knowledge and became one of the store top stove salesmen. He wouldn’t try to sell you just any stove; but would make sure you were getting what was best for you and you loved ones. He would install and repair not only the stoves his stores sold; but any stove a customer asked him to. He was a hard worker and worked hard to provide for his family. He would say “I work hard for the things we need, then work harder for the things we want.” His mind was always at wonder. His conversation would get pretty deep, and that’s because he was the “What if” guy. He would hear a story and then say “well what if this or what if that”. He could never let it be just a simple story.

He loved to hang out with friends and family, drink beer and watch some football, or grill up some food. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and would defend his team no matter what just like he would defend a friend if he needed to. Anthony death has andy will leave a huge void in many people’s hearts. He will truly be missed by all.

He is survived by his parents, his fiancé Brenda Rosales; three sons, Anthony Subia and wife Marisa of Beaumont, CA; David Subia of Riverside, CA; Santiago Subia of North Hurley; stepsons, Paul Palacios of Bayard; Joseph Palacios Bayard; D.J. Peru of Hurley; four daughters, Marissa Subia of Silver City; Monique Subia of Silver City; Nevaeh Subia of Bayard; Sophia Subia of North Hurley; seven grandchildren, Johnny, Emma, Michael, Scarlet, Matthew, Abby, and Noah; one brother, Albert Mike Subia and wife Gabriela of Riverside, Ca; three sisters, Rosanna Williams and husband Raymond of Riverside, CA; Nichole Subia of Merino Valley, CA; Brandi Loy and husband Jonathan of Murrieta, CA. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Juanita Subia; maternal grandparents, Paul and Erlinda Ochoa.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 19th at 6pm at 514 Empire St. Bayard, NM.

Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory.
