Diane Marie Bellack, 73, of Hillsboro, NM passed away on Wednesday October 24, 2018.

Diane was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Clarence and Eileen Swaer and adopted by Arthur and Lottie Bellack of Harper Woods, Michigan.  She was the youngest of 3 sisters and 1 adopted sister.

Diane graduated from Regina High School of Harper Woods, Michigan.  She earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Wayne State University in Special Education and Educational Psychology.  She spent many years teaching and working with special children to improve their quality of life in both Detroit and Algonac Public Schools.  She also had a counseling practice in Port Huron Michigan.

Diane exuded a gentle and warm confidence that made you feel comforted just to be around her.  She was a wonderful mentor to both students and adults alike.  Diane enjoyed and wrote tirelessly to her many pen pals both in the United States, Canada, and Australia making their lives “one letter” better.

She was a TOPS member for many years and enjoyed the comradery of the women.  Diane was very creative and artistic making various crafts for both children and for the Hillsboro Christmas in the Foothills fair.  She selflessly gave her time and energy to the many projects of the Hillsboro Community Center.

Even though it was discovered she had breast cancer in 2006 she lived and died on her terms.  She had opportunities to travel to see friends, relatives for the next 12 years.

Diane’s absence leaves a void but her memory will live on with the people she has inspired.

Marie Yvette Hurley

Marie Yvette Hurley, known as “Yvette” or “vet”, passed suddenly from this life at her home in Deming on Oct. 28, 2018.

She was born in Deming NM, on Oct 2, 1958 to Lee Roy and Helen Moore Hays who preceded her.  She is survived by her husband Michael Monroe Hurley of the home, her  older sister Catherine Ruebush of Deming, her  identical twin sister Yvonne Barth of Lubbock, TX  her younger sister Hannah Dorrance of Deming and many aunts, uncles and cousins.   She is preceded by her parents, her brother Jerry Lee Hays, her sister Heather Lee Hays and her nephew David Ray Hays, Additionally her grandparents Ora Clemas and Calvin Jackson Moore and Samuel Lee and Lillian Elizabeth Hays.

Yvette was deeply loved by her family and many friends in Deming and elsewhere,  as well as on Facebook and will be missed each and every day.  Her unexpected passing has been a shock to many though she was diabetic for many years. Yvette was a Messianic Jew and had an amazing and deep faith, she spent many, many hours studying her Bible and knew it well.   Those who love her are comforted in the assurance that she is resting peacefully in the arms of her beloved savior, Joshua (Jesus)  Yvette had a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NMSU and was a talented and prolific artist and photographer.  She began drawing at an early age and her hands were amazing.  Perhaps watercolor was her best art form, as she could produce fantastic works in just hours.  We know that we all go in Joshua’s time and we were not ready for her to go and her passing has left a hole in our hearts.

Memorial services will be at Terrazas Funeral Chapels at 901 S. Pearl Deming, NM at 2: 00 PM Friday Nov. 2nd 2018.  If you wish to make a donation in Yvette’s honor.

Her family has selected Deming Arts Center 100 S. Gold Deming NM 88030   (575) 546 3663. Terrazas  Funeral  Chapels, Deming.
