Michelle Elaine Landry, 52, a resident of Oracle, AZ entered eternal rest Monday, March 23, 2020 at her residence. 

She was born December 7, 1967 in Albuquerque, NM to Stephen Eissele and Barbara Hill.  She is survived by her parents, Stephen Eissele of Albuquerque; Barbara Quinn of Silver City; her loving husband, David Landry of Oracle, AZ; her son, Chase Landry of Omaha, NE; her daughter, Kiely Landry of San Antonio, TX; two uncles, John Hill of Silver City; Scott Hill and wife Barbara of Silver City; two cousins, Kristen Madrid and husband Michael of Silver City; Chris Hill and wife Rebecca of Silver City. 

Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. 

A service will be held in the summer.  In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the High Desert Humane Society 3050 S. Cougar Way Silver City, NM 88061 and any Mental Health Provider of your choice.

Donald G. Beem

Donald G. Beem, 80, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Monday, March 23, 2020 at his residence. 

He was born June 5, 1939 in Hornick, Iowa to Earnest L. Beem and Lois Boyer Beem.  He is survived by his wife Lawana Beem of the family home; two sons, Kevin G. Beem and wife Marie of Rio Rancho, NM; David L. Beem and wife Gabriella of Silver City; eight grandchildren, Bryan, Gaby Dietz and husband Joe, and Danny, Luz Angelica, Ashley Torres, Vinny Contreras, and Dustin Martinez; one brothers, Lee E. Beem and wife Angie of Emmetsburg, Iowa; brother in-law, Myron Weckwerth of Silver City; also numerous nieces and nephew. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Tami Torres-Martinez.  Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.

Joe Grove

JOE GROVE, 76, resident of Deming passed away Wednesday March 18, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Cremation will take place at Baca’s Mimbres Crematory and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Joe was born January 6, 1944 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.  He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and at the time of his retirement he was a District Sales Manager in the furniture business.  Joe worked in New Mexico and West Texas for many years before settling in Deming approximately 16 years ago.  Locally he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Shriners, and the Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Connie C. Grove of Deming; sons, John (Natalia) Grove of Lubbock, TX, Larry (Vicki) Grove and Bobby Grove all of Alamogordo, NM; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

TERESA A. GONZALES, 79, was called upon by the Almighty on Sunday March 15, 2020.  She passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her family.
 
Visitation will be Monday March 23, 2020 from 4 to 6 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where a prayer vigil will begin at 6 o’clock with Christine Milo leading the rosary.  A graveside service will be Tuesday March 24 at 12 PM at Mt. View Cemetery with Fr. Manuel F. Ibarra officiating.
 
She was born February 10, 1941 to Florentino E. Jaramillo and Concepcion A. Jaramillo.  Teresa married Ignacio V. Gonzales on December 24, 1971 and together they lived and enjoyed their life to the fullest.  She loved and appreciated many things, a few being: dancing, caring for her children (her personal favorite), the Dallas Cowboys, gambling at the casino, and buying jewelry…which topped her list.  Teresa was an extremely loveable and beautiful woman with an infectious laugh.
 
Teresa, or Kika as she preferred to be called is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ignacio V. Gonzales; her sons, Mark (Mona) Crossland of Deming, Todd (Patricia) Jaramillo of Deming, Ignacio (Darci) Gonzales of Deming, Joseph A. Gonzales of Phoenix, AZ, Bobby Jaramillo of Deming; one daughter, Mary Conception (Frank) Meza of Deming; sister Josie (Jerry) Cochran; 12 grandchildren, Marky Crossland, Marko Crossland, Esteban Gonzales, Tiffany Gonzales, Muriel Jaramillo, Alizae Gonzales, Jaelynn Gonzales, Adisyn Gonzales, Leah Gonzales, Trey, Joshua Baker and Karizzma Baker; 4 great grandchildren, Emmy Gonzales, Ezlyn Gonzales, Evalena and Luna; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Florentino E. Jaramillo and Concepcion A. Jaramillo, two sisters, Lorenza Fisher and Mary M. Jaramillo, her brother Luis A. Jaramillo, and niece Julie Pruett.
 
Pallbearers will be Marky Crossland, Marko Crossland, Bobby Meza, Bob Jaramillo, Esteban Gonzales and Jerry Cochran.  Honorary bearers are all of her grandchildren.

Graciela, gained her wings on March 14th in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. 
 
Visitation will be Friday afternoon, March 20, 2020, from 4 to 6 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel with recitation of the rosary to follow at 6 o’clock. Cremation will follow at Baca’s Mimbres Crematory. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery.
 
In her earlier years, Graciela (Gracie), worked at various restaurants in town. Graciela has been a faithful servant of the Lord as evidenced by her many years in the ministries of Saint Ann's Catholic Church, especially the Altar Society, having responsibility for caring for and placement of the Altar linens, cleaning the Blood of Christ vessels and general cleaning and maintenance of the Altar.  She enjoyed preparing and serving bereavement and special occasion meals at Father Stanley Hall. She had a strong faith in the Lord. 
 
Graciela, being born in Mexico, became a US Citizen on February 2nd in 1998. This was a big accomplishment for her, something we are all proud of. Graciela was a loving and caring person that would do whatever needed to provide for her children and grandchildren. She loved to be in the kitchen and always had enough to feed everyone. No one would leave her home on an empty stomach. 
 
She is survived by 3 sons, Carlos Jimenez and his wife Mary of Oceanside, CA, Raul Jimenez of Las Cruces, Richard Jimenez of Deming; 2 daughters, Erlinda Jimenez of the home, Yolanda Lemon and her husband Danny of Tucson, AZ; caregiver, Angie Perez; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
 
Preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Isabel (Nunez) Casillas; son, Joe Jimenez; sisters, Ramona Casillas and Nellie Martinez; brothers, Hector and Alberto Casillas; grandsons, Daniel and Carlitos Jimenez; daughter-in-law, Hilda Jimenez.

Glenn H Fenwick

Glenn H Fenwick of Deming New Mexico passed away at home early Thursday morning March 12, 2020 with his wife and many of his family by his side.  He had a chance to hear from all his kids before his passing and he knew each and every one of their voices. They were able to say goodbye and shared their love with him.

He was originally from Pocatello Idaho, born on October 14, 1932 to Thomas L Fenwick and Illa Mary Curtis.  He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.  While in Pocatello he met and married is high school sweetheart Betty Stoddard.

Glenn and Betty married December 8, 1950 (just shy of 70 years). They had 6 fantastic children: Peggy (Robert) Taylor – Deming New Mexico, Ronda (Orville) Larsen – Carson City, NV, Roger (Sharon) Fenwick – Port Orchard, WA, Katherine Fenwick Gray – Antioch, CA, Rebecca (Richard) Taylor – Santa Clara, UT and Allen (Karen) Fenwick – Kearns, UT.  They had 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and more to come.
Dad loved many things in life, though his major achievement is family and the love of his family and church. His family has created beautiful memories and stories to always tell each other and other generations.

He grew up in Pocatello, he lived many places with his family, but spent the last 22 years in Deming, NM. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served many callings, an avid community member, fund raiser, float builder to name a few. He had made many dear friends while living in Deming and appreciated everyone he met or knew.

George S. Sandoval, 92, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

Our beloved father, husband, uncle, brother has passed on his journey to the gates of heaven. He was born May 23, 1926 in Concho, Arizona to Felix Sandoval and Nancy Sanchez Sandoval. George proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. He worked and retired as a truck driver for Kennecott Copper Mine. He left behind his wife of 74 years, Lillie N. Sandoval, four sons; George R. Sandoval of CA; Edward R. Sandoval of Silver City, William “Bill” Sandoval of Silver City, and Michael T. Sandoval of Carlsbad; 7 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; three brothers, Herman Sandoval of Phoenix, AZ; Nick Sandoval of Tempe, AZ; James Sandoval of Temple, AZ; one sister, Vera Padilla and husband Victor of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, the rest of his siblings.

Holy rosary will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels recited by Deacon Bill Holguin.

The memorial mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating.

Hal Palmer Wolverton III

Hal Palmer Wolverton III, 81, a resident of Deming, NM entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 7, 2020 The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus in El Paso.

Hal was born on August 19, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri to Hal Palmer Wolverton II and Ella Mae Friedrichsen. Hal retired from the US Coast Guard as a BMCM. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He liked working with metal and making stain glass and ceramic.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Angelia  Wolverton; one son Hal Palmer Wolverton IV and his wife Monica of Lakebay, WA; two daughters, Lorrie Veach and her husband Clarke of Richland, WA and Cam Smart of Shiloh, NC; one brother, Jim Olin Wolverton; one sister, Julia Anderson; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 2pm at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

Shirley Elizabeth Branham, 64, a resident of Deming, NM entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her residence.

Shirley was born on January 8, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Roland Hays Branham and Martha Elizabeth Dudley. She is survived by two brothers, Roland H. Branham and his wife Alta of Mescalero, NM and Robert Branham and his wife Morayma of Deming, NM; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Beverly Ann Branham.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10am at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor, Mason Davis officiating.

​Primitivo “Primo” Arvizo, 86, a resident of Lordsburg, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Santa Rita Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Green Valley, AZ. 

He was born September 24, 1933 in Lordsburg, NM to Primitivo Arvizo and Juanita Camacho Arvizo.  He is survived by his loving wife Christina Arvizo of the family home; two sons, Daniel Arvizo of Lordsburg; Primo “Jr.” Arvizo of Lordsburg; two daughters, Pat Luna and husband Jesse of Amado, AZ; Jane Arvizo of Lordsburg; five grandchildren, Melissa, Jesse III, Nonie, Ramon, Jesse, and Benjamin; six great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Cristian, Estrella, Josiah, Jesse IV, and Jayleen; one brother, Rudy Corralelo; two sisters, Julia Martinez and Marcela Meza. 

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Natividad, Juan, Escierdro, Mike, Chaleo “Chaco” Arivizo; five sisters, Ramona Martinez, Maggie Ortega, Estela Reza, Alicia Quiroz, and Mary Murrujo. 

Visitation will be Friday, March 13th from 9-10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the holy rosary being recited to begin at 10am. 

The funeral mass will follow at 10:30am with Father Jude Okonkwo officiating.  Concluding service and interment will take place at Shakespeare cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Cristian Gonzalez, Benjamin Guadiola, Jesse Luna III, Danny, Charlie, Fernando, and Jesse Arvizo. 

​Honorary pallbearer will be Primo Arvizo Jr.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels “Truted care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.
