Roy E. May (9/20/1977-10/16/2018) left his earthly home and was greeted by his heavenly family on October 16, 2018.

A graveside service will be held Friday October 26, 2018 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Mountain View Cemetery with Javier Diaz conducting. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

He was a graduate of Deming High School Class of 1996 where he participated in football and golf, his two passions. Having been away for a while, Roy returned to live in his hometown with his greatest love Gabie and daughter, Maggie Stormi May.  Watching professional golf, football, NASCAR racing, fishing and hunting was his idea of the good life.  He was a tree trimmer by trade but his roots were in cattle ranching where he helped in the family business for many years.

Roy did not know a stranger and was helpful in so many ways to anyone who needed a helping hand.  He was a gentle giant, with a quick wit, a broad smile and a big heart.  When a situation seemed insurmountable he could turn the tables and find the solution and a bright side.  He easily made friends and has many good friends who called him “Bro”.

Survivors include his immediate family: father, Byron R. May (Deanne), mother, Diana May-Diaz (Javier), sister, Talis L. May (Kevin), step-sisters, Kate Autry (Jaxon), Jade Zeigler (Marvin), his greatest love, Gabrielle Rademacher, daughter, Margaret Stormi May, nieces, Audrey Pacheco, Ava Flores, nephew, Ronnie Simmons and many loved extended family members.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, in Roy’s memory please say “I love you,” smile and lend a helping hand.

Entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be Wednesday October 17, 2018 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Silver City with Reverend Cory Payne officiating.  Concluding services and interment will follow at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery.

Carolyn was born February 3, 1931 in Santa Rita, New Mexico, the second child of Kathleen Olive Gibbs Marshall and Miles Noles "Buster" Marshall.  Carolyn married Bige William "Bill" Pennington on December 11, 1948 in Santa Rita.  Carolyn was a pharmacy tech at Fort Bayard Hospital and retired March 1, 1991 after 20 years and 5 month’s of service.  Carolyn and Bill enjoyed their retirement, traveling, bowling, camping, pinon picking and family gatherings.  Carolyn was quite artistic, dabbling in sketching and drawing, but she most enjoyed knitting and crocheting and she gave her beautiful creations to friends, family and sometimes strangers.  Carolyn enjoyed going to Swap Meets and Flea Markets where she offered for sale some of her creations along with Bill's silver and turquoise jewelry and wood work.  They did this for many years until her dementia made it difficult to create the quality she demanded of herself (the perfectionist trait she inherited from her machinist father "Buster")!

Carolyn is survived by her husband of almost 70 years Bill; daughter Billie Carol Payne (David "Shorty") grandson Kory Payne (Sheri), granddaughter Krystal (David McLain), daughter Alice Kathleen Armendariz (Steve) grandsons David Ray Ramey Jr. (Bernadette) and William Miles Ramey.
