Sandra Jean Moore, 80, resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, November 7, 2021. She was born August 13, 1941 in Huntington, West Virginia to Richard Cobb and Opal Snodgrass.

A beloved lifelong educator, Sandy’s contributions and volunteer efforts often transcended the classroom. The following recognizes some of her many efforts: Induction into the WNMU Alumni Hall of Fame, recipient of the Alfred J. O’Malley Alumni Pioneer Award for co-leading the fundraising of $100,000 in scholarship funds; Recognized with the Outstanding Teaching Award from her district of over 500 schoolteachers; Provided extensive volunteer leadership to raise funds for a program that provided special opportunities for persons with developmental challenges.

These recognitions do not begin to reflect the number of people she personally helped and supported in so many ways, each day of her life. Her life was a true testament of grace and giving to those in need. She is deeply loved and will be missed.

An English author once said; “what we do for ourselves dies with us, the things we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.”

She is survived by her husband, Marshall Moore; sons, Scott Moore of Las Cruces; Eric Moore (Michiko) of Silver City; daughter, Tracey Eldridge (Stephen) of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Sandy Moore, Kiersten and Breanna Maitlen, John Robert Kear, Addalynn Carter, and Mariana Grijalva; sister, Ruby Prevost. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Robbie Moore; sisters, Irene Scholl and Pat Stephens.

No immediate services planned. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory.
