Reina Salaiz Chavez

Reina Salaiz Chavez, 76, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was bon November 20, 1944 in Silver City, NM to Albino Salaiz and Benita De La O Salaiz. Reina loved her family very much. Reynaldo took care of her till the end. She enjoyed spending time with her friend Sally Portillo. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, spending time on her Ipad, playing games and loved spending time and talking to her grandchildren. She is survived by Raynaldo S. Chavez of Santa Clara; one daughter, Barbara C. Moreno (Ramon Garcia); six grandchildren, Nicole Moreno and friend Daniel Hernandez; Diana Patterson (Michael); Martena Reina Campolla (Juan Jose); Michelle Moreno, Natalie Hope, Hailey Joy, and Emiliano Anthony Moreno Hernandez; two brothers, Albert Salaiz (Gloria) of NV; Robert Salaiz (Mary) of NV; Art Salaiz (Priscilla) of Silver City; one sister, Henrietta Lopez of Silver City; a friend of the family, Betty Aragon of Silver City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Isabel C. Chavez; five brothers, Joe D. Lopez, Ramon Lopez, Raymundo Lopez, Albino Salaiz, and Alto Salaiz; two sisters, Angie Morones and Ester Kirker.


Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 13th from 10-10:30am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Art Gutierrez to begin at 10:30am. The funeral mass to follow at 11am with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory concluding service. Inurnment will take place at Fort Bayard National Cemetery on Thursday, January 14th. Pallbearers are Daniel Chavez, Reynaldo Chavez, Alfred Chavez, Juan Jose Campolla, Daniel Hernandez, and Ramon Garcia Jr.

Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory.
