From a young age and throughout his school years, Nick was an avid baseball player and aspired to become a professional baseball player. He was also a part of the Explorer Program and a life scout in pack and troop 130. He graduated from Silver High School in 2001 and went on to obtain his associates degree in Business Administration in 2017.
Throughout his life in Silver City he served his community as a Santa Clara police officer. He also worked for J&S plumbing with his family own and owned his own sports apparel shop on Hwy 180. He married the love of his life Ashley in February 2009 and they began building their family, a family that Nick spent the rest of his life loving, nurturing, and protecting. Nick enjoyed traveling with his family, spending time with his friends, bowling, golf, and watching the Cowboys play football.
Nick held many employment positions in Silver City and enjoyed each one in its own way. No matter what he did he loved making friends and having long conversations with everyone and anyone. One of his favorite positions held was serving his community as a Santa Clara police officer as this was one of his life dreams. He was employed with the family business, J&S plumbing, for many years throughout his life and was always willing to lend a helping hand when not employed there. His friends and community remember him as being friendly, kind, selfless and always willing to talk about sports, politics, or anything that required conversation.
After high school, Nick had a meaning full relationship and marriage with Jennifer Starkey, now Jennifer Dooling, and had two beautiful children, Rachel and Nicolas II. Later, Nick married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Ashley, on February 7th, 2009 and they began building a life together. A life full of adventure and love. This marriage produced two more beautiful children; step-son Devaughn and daughter Peyton. Nick’s family was everything to him, he spent his life loving, nurturing, and protecting them. Nick was selfless and always available to lend a helping hand to family, friends, as well as strangers.
Nick had many hobbies in life; he was an avid bowler and baseball player; he loved to watch, play and talk sports; he liked playing card games and spending time with his family; he enjoyed going to the movies and eating popcorn; and he had fun taking trips with his wife and kids.
