Michael “John” Trujillo Jr., 48, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX.

John was born to Michael and Taffy Trujillo in Las Cruces, NM.  First and foremost, there was nothing he loved more in this world than his boys.  He graduated from Silver City High School, attended NMSU and became an ASC certified master mechanic.

John was a proud father, He was a loving son and brother and a friend to all. He was very athletic in football, baseball, tennis, golf, mountain biking, snowboarding and skateboarding. He also coached his kids in soccer and baseball. At the age of two, he was known in the neighborhood as “Evil Knievel Jr.,” riding on his imaginary motorcycle. He was the pied piper for children, a mountain man and hunter.

Known to his friends as a jokester and the leader of the clan, he was the hunt master that coordinated all the hunts and made sure no one missed hunt application deadlines. He was a dyed-in-the-wool hunter (rifle and bow) and a hunting partner to all. He loved to “cook foods up “and he would have fed the world if he could have. He shared his knowledge of mechanics, fishing, hunting, and cooking. His favorite saying was, “Lots of people go fishing, but we go catch fish.”

John made a special place in everyone’s heart through his incredible personality. He will forever be missed but never forgotten. He was a proud American, loved his country, appreciated his freedom, and was thankful to all those who served. He is survived by his three sons, Marius (Terea), Zeb, and Jaedan, his parents, his sister Janie, brother Bobby (Erin and baby Braxley), grandparents Lambert and Josie Trujillo, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  As per John’s request, there will be no services. There will be a “Fiesta” in John’s honor at the Grant County Veterans Memorial Business and Conference Center at 4:00 pm on August 6, 2022, located at 3031 Hwy 180 East in Silver City, NM.

Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory.
