John was a proud father, He was a loving son and brother and a friend to all. He was very athletic in football, baseball, tennis, golf, mountain biking, snowboarding and skateboarding. He also coached his kids in soccer and baseball. At the age of two, he was known in the neighborhood as “Evil Knievel Jr.,” riding on his imaginary motorcycle. He was the pied piper for children, a mountain man and hunter.
Known to his friends as a jokester and the leader of the clan, he was the hunt master that coordinated all the hunts and made sure no one missed hunt application deadlines. He was a dyed-in-the-wool hunter (rifle and bow) and a hunting partner to all. He loved to “cook foods up “and he would have fed the world if he could have. He shared his knowledge of mechanics, fishing, hunting, and cooking. His favorite saying was, “Lots of people go fishing, but we go catch fish.”
