​Lawrence “Larry” V. Salas

​Lawrence “Larry” V. Salas, 68, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, January 16, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born March 16, 1951 in Santa Rita, NM to Manuel M. and Juanita Valerio Salas.  He proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp.  He is survived by his wife, Ramona Salas of Bayard; two sons, Larry Salas Jr., of Albuquerque; Isaac Salas of Albuquerque; two daughters, Yvonne Hernandez and husband Michael of Bayard; Lillian Salas and companion David Godoy of Carlsbad, NM; two step-daughters that he raised as his own, Elizabeth Cardenas and husband Israel of Las Cruces; Olga Castillo of Phoenix, AZ; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, David Salas of San Antonio, TX; Robert “Bobby” Salas of Sierra Vista, AZ; one sister, Sally Salas of Albuquerque; sister in-law, Lucille Salas of Bayard; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Manuel “Manny” Salas.  Visitation will be Monday, January 20th from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Richard Rodriguez to begin at 6pm.  The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 21st at 9:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Paulus Kao officiating.  Concluding service and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.  Pallbearers will be James Salas, Rudy Valerio, Michael Hernandez, David Godoy, Abel Garcia, and Michael (Spike) Hernandez.   Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren, Paul Cabrera, Delia (hermana) Cabrera and their boys.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels “Trusted care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.  To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com
