
Jim Weisenburger passed away peacefully, with a smile on his face, on May 29, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 14, 1946, and grew up in Phoenix, AZ. After brief stays in CA and back in AZ, he landed in his adopted home of Silver City, NM.
Jim was a graduate of Cochise College where he earned his nursing degree. He spent his career serving others and worked at the Gila Regional Medical Center, Fort Bayard Medical Center, and the New Mexico State Veterans Home.
Jim was a die-hard Vikings fan, a lover of the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns and music. His favorite hobbies included watching sports, gardening, and walking with his dog, Bella.
He also loved to ride motorcycles, fish, hike and be in nature.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother Edythe and father Walter. He is survived by his wife Shelley, brother Walter Weisenburger, and sisters Penney Konschak (Chris) and Alyce Smith (Brent). He is also Uncle Jim to his nieces and nephew.
To honor Jim’s life, a Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, June 3rd at 3pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels, with Pastor Earsey Ross officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, so we can kick cancer’s ass.
Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
