Hank was born May 1, 1940, in Eureka, Montana to Juanita and Thomas Nelson. He was the eldest of five children: Susie Henkley, Bonnie Fuller, Lynn Boyd, and Thomas Nelson. On October 17, 1959, he was married to Judy Clark and there were seven children born of their marriage. They resided in Libby, Montana where he worked at J Neils Lumber Company in Zonolite Mill and was a post office employee. He had a rural route which he thoroughly enjoyed. In 1967, he injured his back and had to retire from the post office which led the family to move to Kalispell, Montana. It was there where he became active in scouting and participating in his church, Risen Christ. During this time, he enjoyed his family, grandchildren, friends, and working with wood in his workshop. In 1996, he and his wife sold their farm, purchased an R.V., and roamed the country. They came to discover Deming, New Mexico during their travels. They became enthralled with the town and the friendly people who resided there. After deciding to permanently reside in Deming, he was active in the Rock Club and enjoyed searching for exceptional stones in the open desert. He made many works of art out of this hobby and shared most of his creations as gifts to those around him. He passed away on October 3, 2017, in his home with his wife, one of his sons, and the family dog. He is survived by his wife Judy Nelson; his children Bradley (Millinette) Nelson, Carmen (Ronald) Moyer, Todd (deceased), Donald (Christine) Nelson, Linda (Allen) Williamson, Thomas (Marion) Nelson, Harvey (Kim) Nelson, and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He would like to thank Mark Osmer, AmberCare Hospice, John, Lisa, Dan, Yvonne, Jose, and Carol for all of their love and help. He would also like to thank his wonderful friends and neighbors. His family is confident that he is at peace with the Lord.
Entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels.
