Gena was born on July 15, 1968 to Hoyt and Naomi Holmes. She grew up in Silver City and graduated from Silver High in 1986. In 1988, she married her husband, Nick Contor. Five years later in 1993, she gave birth to her son J. Wesley. In 1998, they welcomed their baby girl, Victoria. You would rarely, see Gena outside of work without Victoria, as they were the best of friends. Gena’s main priority in life was always her family, especially her children. She was a mom first, above everything. She was usually the quiet but joyful presence in the room. She enjoyed being with family and friends. She especially enjoyed Sunday family dinners at Julie and Harrisons, and time with her friends at Funko and Stampin’ Up gatherings. She handcrafted cards for every occasion for those she loved. Gena’s favorite job was at Agape Christian Academy, where she worked as the office manager for several years. She also enjoyed her more recent job working at Walmart, where she could visit daily with family and friends, new and old.
Gena is survived by a family that will truly miss her presence.
