Frank Albert Hervol, Jr., 73, was born on December 2, 1947 in Deming, New Mexico to Frank and Martha Hervol. After a long fight with pancreatic cancer and renal failure, he went to be with the Lord while surrounded by family at home on Friday, April 30th.. He is survived by his spouse Cathy of 49 years, four children: Robbie Hervol, Ryan (Stephanie) Hervol, Tiffany (Dan) Frost, and Tamora (Johnny) Kehoe, ten grandchildren: Abby, Chloe, and Emily Hervol; Colby, Bryson, and Kailey Hervol; Ethan, Christian, and Landon Frost; Aubri Kehoe; and his loyal companion Snoopy, his dog . Furthermore, he is survived by his sisters Caroline (George) Ligocky; Pat Welch, and brother James (Liana) Hervol; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Martha Hervol, his nieces Delia and LaDonna Foster, Jean Ann Tubbs, and Lexie Cardwell, brother in law Durl Welch, brother in law Paul Luchsinger, and best friends from high school Murray Keeler and Dick Strand.

Frankie was born and raised from a lineage of farmers. He grew up on a farm southwest of Deming with his parents and siblings. He was a simple man who only moved once. He met the love of his life “Jo,” bought a farm east of Deming, married “Jo”, and raised four children while tilling the soil and running cows south of Deming. He was just shy of celebrating his “Golden Anniversary of 50 years” with his hard-working and caring wife, Cathy.

Frankie had a big heart and cared for others, especially children. He welcomed many kids to his farm to fish, work, hunt, and play, such as the Strand boys who became part of the family. He was a “kid at heart” who was always joking, singing, and pitching wild balls to his grandchildren in baseball. He said, the most beautiful sound to him was the voices of his grandchildren.

Frankie’s passion in life was farming and ranching. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go elk, deer, and turkey hunting with his family. His sister and brother have a long-standing tradition of going deer hunting to Mule Creek for over 60+ plus years with their kids and grandchildren. Every summer, he made a couple of trips to the Gila River with his sister and their families to go fishing. This was what he called a “vacation.” He only tolerated traveling outside the state because of his wife Cathy and had 2 children living in different states. He was very much a home body, who cultivated a HUGE garden, so he could share the produce with others.

Frankie was one of the most-humble and simple minded man God could ever ask for. He had a smile that lit up a room. He was a person who never met a stranger. He was strong in his faith and a Christian man active in the Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a leader in the annual Klobase BBQ every year. Frankie will be missed by many because of his humbleness, laughter, and happy go lucky ways. He is now tilling soil in Heaven with his Lord Jesus Christ pain free, with no more suffering. One day, we will be united with him again.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, May 6th from 5 to 6 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where a rosary will begin at 6 o’clock to be led by Sabina Hervol. Funeral Mass will be Friday morning at 11 o’clock at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Prakasham Babu, Pastor officiating. Cremation will follow and a private family inurnment will be at Mt. View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers family requests that you make a memorial contribution to Holy Family Catholic Church in memory of Frankie.

Entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels and Mimbres Crematory.
