Delvin A. Hallowell, 82, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was born August 22, 1938 in Baraboo, WI to Arthur Hallowell and Hilda Anna Kleinsmidt Hallowell. Mr. Hallowell proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He had been working as an owner/truck driver for 45 years. He was presented with a accident free certificate for safe driving.
He is survived by his loving wife Matilda Coria Hallowell of the family home; one son, James Hallowell of Illinois; two step-sons, Robert and Ross Muhr of Chicago, IL; one brother, Donald Hallowell of WI; one sister, Francis Cole of WI; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond Hallowell and three sisters, Dorothy Mehan, Arlene Jensen, and Carol Hallowell.
Visitation will be Monday, September 14th from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Bill Holguin to begin at 6pm. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15th at 9:30am at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem officiating.
Concluding service and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers are Marco Laure, Ross Muhr, Ernest Gomez, Matthew Farmer, Art Rapp, and David Stapp.
