
Daniel was born on November 10, 1950 to Mary Turrieta Saenz in Rincon, NM. Daniel was well known as a people person with a big smile and a generous heart. He was kind, a hard worker and loved country dancing.
He began his career at a very young age as a stocker at Ledbetter grocery store and later, worked as a manager for Safeway and Furrs Stores for over 25 years before he had to medically retire. He is survived by three brothers, Joe Saenz of Deming, NM; Benny Saenz of Houston, TX and Charlie Saenz of Deming, NM; five sisters, Stella Uzueta and her husband Alex of Deming, NM; Nancy Saenz of Deming, NM; JoAnn Saenz of Granbury, TX; Norma Carter of Las Cruces, NM and Debra Quintero and her husband Alfred of Clovis, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, Pat Sanchez and Richard Saenz; his grandparents, Enrique and Luz Saenz.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 12-2pm at St. Ann Catholic Church with the holy rosary beginning at 2pm with Susan Lundy officiating. Funeral mass will then begin at 3pm with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating.
Cremation will then take place and an inurnment will take place on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10am at Mountain View Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Benny Saenz, Charlie Saenz, Manny Alvarez, Alex Uzueta, Gabriel Saenz and Sammy Saenz. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his brothers. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels & Crematory.
