Daniel was born on November 21, 1980 in El Paso, TX to Roger Loren Geray and Donna Gayle Robinson. In his civilian career, Daniel worked in the health care field as an X-Ray Technician. During his military career, he served as an Infantryman, a Field Medic/X-Ray Specialist, and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator. He also served in the California National Guard and was proud of his role in fighting California wildfires. He viewed himself as a Viking warrior and competed in the Army’s Best Warrior Competition. The Best Warrior Competition tested both Daniel’s physical and mental skills, including writing skills. Daniel’s ability to inspire with words was exceptional, and he won the essay portion of the competition at the state level.
Daniel was a beloved son, a caring brother, and a loving father. He was especially proud of his children and loved to share stories about his time with them. His stories always included praise for their accomplishments, no matter how large or small. He is survived by both of his parents; two sons, Joshua Benjamin Geray of CA and Ian Cassius Mendoza of NM; one daughter, Anais Danielle Pacheco of NY; two sisters, Kristina Suzanne Long and Amanda Gayle Geray both of NM and two grandchildren, Gabriel Jay Pacheco and Melody Christine Pacheco.
