Ashton was born on May 24, 2007, in Silver City, New Mexico, but had lived most of his brief life in Deming. He attended Deming Public Schools and was a member of the Freshman class at Deming High School at the time of his death. Ashton was a happy child who loved playing with his trucks and video games, especially Fortnite. He grew up playing soccer, baseball, and football in the Deming Youth Leagues and had attended Bethel Baptist Church. He loved riding dirt bikes, ATVs and side-by-sides with his father and brothers and watching Motocross and BMX races. His other loves included the Dallas Cowboys, eating red enchiladas, fishing and hunting with his father, and spending time with his brother and cousins, and good friends Ruben, Kole and Elijah. His family and friends also greatly enjoyed the expressions of his humor displayed in the many TikTok videos he posted in recent years.
