She spent her life making a beautiful home for her family. All those that knew her would say she was an excellent cook who loved to entertain and feed every person who visited her. She and Ray enjoyed traveling and often visited Las Vegas and Laughlin, where they loved to try their luck on slot machines. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by many.
Josie is survived by three sisters, Manuela “Nellie” Leyba, Maria Chavez, and Esperanza Silva, and two brothers, Frank (Teresa) Trujillo and Jose “Joe” Trujillo; her four children, Rena (Troy) Calloway, Reynaldo Madrid Jr., Rachael (Steven) Madrid, Pete (Karen) Madrid, and son-in-law David Alves; eleven grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren, sister in-law, Esther Ramirez; Compadre Gilbert Murillo, Godson, Victor Pena; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reynaldo “Rey” Madrid, five brothers, Alberto “Beto” Baca, Max Trujillo, Julian Baca, Ben Baca, and Thomas Baca, and sister, Frances Orosco.
At the request of Mrs. Madrid, there will be no services. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory.
