Antonia (Tonie)Martinez Laney resident of Silver City, New Mexico went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 she was born to Martin and Antonia Martinez on June 13, 1941 in Hurley New Mexico. She was born the eighth of nine children, she enjoyed the outdoors gardening and tending to a flower garden as well as being known for her flower designing in the Silver City area. She loved and adored her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed puzzles, word searching, and skip blue card games. She was known for her lively spirit her sense of humor her sense of fun and adventure and welcome everyone into her home she was faithful to God till the end.
She had four children with her first husband the late Rito Hernandez, Julie James and husband Jerry James; Norma Dominguez and husband Tony Dominguez; Timmy Hernandez and wife Michelle Lewis, and Roseann Hernandez with husband Manuel Cordero. She had a total of 12 grandchildren and18 great grandchildren which she loved and adored every moment.
She was blessed to have had a joined marriage with the late Eddie J. Laney and stepmother to four children.
Those who departed before Antonia included her parents Martin and Antonia Martinez; two sisters, Mary Ellen Martinez and four brothers, Nicolas Martinez, Pete Martinez, Ray Martinez, and Martin Martine.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 9th at 2:30 at Infant Jesus Shrine with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels.
