DEMING – Billy Franzoy, a renowned farmer in Luna County, has been selected as the Grand Marshall for this year’s Southwestern New Mexico State Fair Parade.
With his association with brands like Billy the Kid Produce and Young Guns Produce, Billy is far from being stuck in the past. In fact, he operates some of the most technologically advanced farms and processing facilities in New Mexico, specializing in white, yellow, and red onions.
As the community gears up to celebrate the 77th annual Southwestern New Mexico State Fair, Billy will be at the forefront, leading the parade through downtown Deming this Saturday.
The parade, themed “Dancing with the Steers” this year, is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 7th.
Interested participants can still register their entries at the Deming Visitor Center located at 800 East Pine Street. For more information, please contact 575-546-2674.
Deming Radio’s Danny Rodriguez will be set up in front of Budget Tires on the corner of Gold and Pine Street, broadcasting alongside this year’s parade on Deming’s local radio stations, KDEM 94.3FM and KOTS 1230AM.
