DEMING – The New Mexico Department of Transportation and the New Mexico State Police across the state are holding a stuffed animal drive.
It was started several years ago by U.S. police departments responding to domestic violence calls that involve children. It has become a way for officers to comfort children who are going through a negative situation.
Donation boxes are set up at the New Mexico Department of Transportation 2912 East Pine Street, and Deming’s State Police Headquarters on East Pine.
Donations accepted are any new small to medium stuffed animals and will be collected until Saturday September 30th.
