
DEMING – The Luna County Board of Commissioners will be holding a Special Meeting Thursday June 8th.
Service awards will be awarded to Kristen Gallegos for 5 years service at the Assessor’s Office, Amy Perea for 5 years at the Detention Center and Leslie Nabours for 15 years at the County Clerk’s office.
Special Recognition will be given to Teresa Seats for 11 years at the Starmax Entertainment complex.
Laura Garcia will be retiring from the Sheriff’s Department after 25 years’ service and will be honored for her service to the community.
The new business to be discussed and voted on includes budget procurements, certification of fixed assets, and designation of polling places for the 2024 and 2025 elections.
The Commission will also announce the next “County College” event set for Thursday June 22nd at 5:30 pm also at the Courthouse. The topic to be discussed will be the road department.
The county offices will be closed Monday June 19th in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day.
Again, the Commission will meet Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Commission Chambers on the third floor of the Luna County Courthouse 700 South Silver Street in Deming.
The meeting is open to the public.
