DEMING - In response to the growing demand for passport services in the region, Berenda McWright, the Luna County Clerk told Deming Radio News that her office is delighted to announce that it is now an authorized acceptance facility for passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. This development aims to streamline the application process for U.S. citizens planning international travel.
McWright said that effective immediately, individuals can submit their passport applications at the Luna County Clerk’s Office, located at 700 S Silver Ave., Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It's important to note that appointments are mandatory for this service to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
The decision to offer passport services comes as the Luna County Clerk’s Office recognized the pressing need within the community. By extending its range of services, the office aims to provide a convenient and local solution for residents planning overseas travel.
As of now, the office is only taking new applications. Renewal services must be done online and by mail.
McWright said that applicant photos need to be done and can be taken at Walgreen’s and Print-O-Rama.
