
DEMING – As the November elections approach, Luna County residents are being given the opportunity to engage in a meaningful discussion with their local election candidates. The Deming Luna County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate forum on Wednesday, October 18th from 6 to 8pm.
The forum will be held at the historic train depot by Starmax on North Country Club Road. This event provides an excellent platform for residents to ask questions and learn more about the candidates’ positions on various issues.
Residents who wish to submit questions for the candidate forum can do so by emailing executivedirector@demingchamber.com.
The upcoming election features several contested positions in Deming, including the Mayor, two City Council seats, three Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor positions, and three School Board members.
In addition to these races, Luna County residents will also be asked to vote on the renewal of a 2-mil levy bond issue.
The Village of Columbus is also holding elections for the positions of Mayor, four Village Trustees, and a Municipal Judge.
