
DEMING - In August of 2022, President Biden signed into law the PACT act. A new law that expanded VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, agent orange and other toxic substances.
The act added to the list of health conditions that are assumed or presumed are caused by exposure to substances.
U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez, along with representatives from the Veteran’s Services, will be in Deming Tuesday September 5th from three to 7 p.m. to talk to locals about the PACT act.
The public is invited to join the VA and Representative Vasquez for a presentation about the PACT Act that expanded health care benefits to veterans exposed to toxic substances while in service.
Special Guests will be Matthew McGahran, Assistant Director of New Mexico Veteran’s Health Care Services, Scott Lajiness, Albuquerque RO Management Analyst and Miguel Martinez, Veteran Service Officer with the Department of Veterans Services.
Again, the meeting will be Tuesday September 5th from 3 until 7pm at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center 2300 East Pine Street in Deming.
