
DEMING – Here’s today’s local arrests and police reports.
Jemima Sanchez, age 32, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container, and improper lane changes. Deming Police Chief Clint Hogan told Deming Radio News that as she was being arrested, she said she was developing a medical situation. The officers took her to the emergency room, as she was being released from the hospital, and still in handcuffs, she stood up from the wheelchair, and began to run away from the officers.
Officers ran after her and took her by the shoulder and apprehended her once again. She is now also facing escape from custody charges along with all the previously mentioned charges.
In other arrests:
Benjaman Hinojos, age 40, was arrested on two Adult Probation and Parole Department warrants, both for probation violations… Javier Perez, age 32, was arrested for resisting, evading or obstructing an officer and on two Luna County Magistrate Court warrants one for failure to comply with conditions of probation, and the other for failure to pay fines… Albert Vaughn, age 68, was arrested for breaking and entering and causing criminal damage to property… Mauricio Alvarado, age 49, was arrested on a Deming Municipal court warrant for failure to appear… Jose Enriquez, age 24, was arrested on a Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear… Ernesto Ibarra, age 32, was arrested on two 6th Judicial District Court warrants, both for failure to appear.
In police reports:
A vacuum, computer tablet and jewelry valued at $225 as reported stolen from a residence on the 1000 block of South Zinc. A wallet containing identification, credit cards and $400 in cash was taken from the 100 block of East Birch.
A man who was visiting his mother for a few days, returned to his home in the 1300 block of Suncrest in Deming. When he arrived, he found that the locks to his home had been changed. He had the locks re-keyed, and the police report was taken.
Finally, a home surveillance security system’s camera was taken from a residence on the 500 block of Platinum Street. Police are looking at surveillance video to track down the thief.
