DEMING - On March 20th, the Deming Police Department responded to a distress call reporting a structure fire at 1408 W. Hickory St. Upon arrival, officers were met with a harrowing sight as flames engulfed a residence. Fortunately, the homeowner and his canine companion were found safe.
The Deming Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division (CID), in collaboration with the New Mexico State Fire Marshal, promptly initiated an investigation into the incident. Their findings pointed to arson as the cause of the blaze.
In the course of their investigation, CID identified a suspect, leading to the issuance of a felony warrant for arson and criminal damage to property against Brittni Jasso from North Carolina.
