DEMING - Monday morning’s bombing at the Adult Probation and Parole Office in Deming is now being investigated by the FBI.
Deming Radio News has been told by FBI officials in Albuquerque that they can not confirm or deny any questions about the incident. This includes names of any persons arrested or charges filed. The case is still active and under investigation by their department.
Monday morning at around 7:30 residents in the area reported hearing a loud explosion. Upon arrival at 920 S. Silver Street, the Adult Probation and Parole Department – local law enforcement officers found a secondary device.
The NMSP bomb squad responded from Las Cruces, and after several hours, had the area reopened to regular traffic.
Surveillance footage from a nearby building was obtained showing a vehicle of interest in the area.
Later Monday morning, officers saw the vehicle in Deming, and a chase ensued. The driver of the vehicle was eventually apprehended on Interstate 10.
At this time, no name or charges have been officially released, pending further investigation by the FBI.
