DEMING – A shocking discovery was made early Monday morning when a local woman found her husband, 37-year-old Jose Arroyo, shot to death in the front yard of a residence on East Jarvis Street.
Arroyo, who had failed to return home as expected, was found lying lifeless in the 900 block of the residential street. Deming Police Chief Clint Hogan confirmed to Deming Radio News that Arroyo had been shot multiple times with a handgun.
According to Hogan, Arroyo was at the residence when an argument broke out. Arroyo had called his wife during the altercation, assuring her that he would be home soon. His wife reported hearing the argument in the background during their phone conversation.
When Arroyo failed to return home, his worried wife went to the East Jarvis residence where she made the grim discovery.
Upon arrival at the scene, police found the residence empty. Investigators are now searching for a person of interest, believed to have left the area. A vehicle description has been entered into the national crime database in connection with this case.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work tirelessly to bring justice for Arroyo and his grieving family.
