DEMING - On Thursday March 21st at about 10:30am, Brittni Jasso turned herself into the Luna County Magistrate Court for the Felony Arson and Criminal Damage to property warrant that was issued for her arrest.
The warrant was from the arson committed at 1408 West Hickory Street in Deming on Wednesday March 20th.
Jasso was seen by the Magistrate Court Judge who released her on her own recognizance.
Jasso is no longer wanted by law enforcement.
Interim Police Chief Jose Montoya wished to thank the public for the assistance and efforts given the department in this case.

On March 20th, the Deming Police Department responded to a distress call reporting a structure fire at 1408 W. Hickory St. Upon arrival, officers were met with a harrowing sight as flames engulfed a residence.
Fortunately, the homeowner and his canine companion were found safe.
The Deming Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division (CID), in collaboration with the New Mexico State Fire Marshal, promptly initiated an investigation into the incident. Their findings pointed to arson as the cause of the blaze.
