
DEMING – The Deming Public School system placed Shelter-in-Place protocols Thursday afternoon at Bataan Elementary, Memorial Elementary, Deming Intermediate School, Red Mountain Middle School, and Deming High School.
The schools went into a shelter-in-place protocol due to law enforcement activity in the areas. The shelter-in place was lifted about 2pm. All students and staff were safe.
Law enforcement was called to Ruben S. Torres Elementary to assist with an incident involving a student’s parent.
The parent eventually cooperated with law enforcement and all students were safely released from school.
The Deming Public School Administration said that they appreciate everyone’s cooperation during the event and student release.
