DEMING – The Deming Public Schools have announced the following:
Next Step Plans Schedule for March 22nd
Students in grades 8th through 12th grade will not attend school on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, instead they will have the opportunity to create and review their Next Step Plans. Next Step Plans are used to help students define and identify their goals, interests, and future plans after graduation.
Next Step Plans Schedule March 22nd
8th Grade Students - Red Mountain Middle School 8th graders and parents/guardians will attend an orientation at Deming High School. Parents and students may attend anytime between 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The orientation will cover Academic and Next Step Plans, tour of the high school, school expectations, and an expo of school activities, sports, and after school programs.
9th-11th Grade Students at Deming High School and Mimbres Valley High School
Parents/guardians will log into the portal in Infinite Campus to review and sign Academic and Next Step Plans. If you have any questions, don’t agree with the plan, or need assistance with the portal, counselors will be available to assist from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
A zoom meeting will be scheduled at a later date to accommodate any parent/guardian who was unable to attend. Please contact Deming High School at (575) 546-2678 if you will be unable to attend.
9th-11th Grade Students at Early College High School
Meetings will be scheduled by staff with parents and students to discuss their Next Step Plans. If you have any questions, please contact Early College High School at (575) 543-1643.
12th Grade Students will not attend school.
12th grade students will be reviewing their Final Step Plans with their counselor in April. The Final Step Plan gives seniors an opportunity to outline their plan for after graduation. If you have any questions, please contact your school or the district office.
