Deming Fire Department Fire Truck DEMING - The Deming Fire Department is set to conduct a memorial ceremony on Monday, September 11, 2023, to honor the 343 fallen firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of others.
This ceremony honors those heroes we've lost, mirroring the legacy and camaraderie within the fire service family.
The Deming Fire Department invites the community to join in remembrance of that tragic day in our nation's history. Sirens will sound at the exact times the incidents occurred:
• 08:46:40 - When Flight 11 struck the North Tower
• 09:03:02 - When Flight 175 hit the South Tower
• 09:37:46 - When Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon
• 10:03:11 - When Flight 93 went down in Pennsylvania Each siren will be followed by a moment of silence.
At 11:00 a.m., the department will initiate a time-honored "push-in" ceremony, marking the official commissioning of their new fire truck into service.
