DEMING - Culinary students competed on April 22 at the Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, Florida.
There were 3 flights of 22 teams each. A total of 834 students competed. 1st-3rd were awarded for Main and Side dishes. Our students sadly, did not bring home any awards. They were teamed up with a group of 9 students from Indiana.
The students met the morning of the competition and all became fast friends.
Deming students drew Africa as their continent so they had to cook food with African flavors. Students had 90 minutes to complete 12 dishes of each item.
They finished before time and their dishes were beautiful and delicious. Deming students had a great time and learned so much. Students also toured the top hospitality school in the nation right in Orlando and the students were very impressed by the training they received from the Disney team.
