
She was born July 2, 1952. Norma Was a Devout Catholic and spent much of her adult life involved in the church. She was a confirmation teacher for many years, a Cursillista, and enjoyed weekly Bible studies with her sisters in Christ. Norma was a cosmetologist, she retired from K-mart and was a local school bus driver for many years. She had many beautiful talents, cake decorating, cooking, baking, crocheting, and sewing to name a few.
She enjoyed dancing, camping, hunting, and fishing with her husband and girls. She had the best smile and always spread kindness and love to everyone she came across. she will always be remembered for being too honest when needed, and making people smile. whether it be a funny joke or simple “I’ll keep you in my prayers” She always knew how to say what people needed to hear. She had a beautiful relationship with God and a profound spiritual strength that brought peace to all of her family. She enjoyed so many things. She adored her grandchildren with an undeniable obsession, unconditionally loved her daughters and cherished her husband. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by Her soulmate of 45 years, Armando O. Jacquez and three daughters, Amanda Chavez (John) of Silver City. Andrea Jacquez and companion Danny Ray Teran of Silver City and Annette Verovich (Anthony) of Silver City; four grandchildren Briana, Aaliyah, Anthony III, and Armando, and one great grandson Jerek; mother Rosario G. Montes of Silver City; sister Lupe Provencio (Russ) of Silver City, brother Ramon Montes of Silver City; sister Marcella Arellano (Joey) of Silver City. She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents, Luis and Josefa Gutierrez of Douglas AZ, and Paternal Grandparents Jose and Petra Montes of North Hollywood, California and Father Ramon M. Montes of Silver City.
Visitation will be Monday, March 9 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by her sisters in Christ to begin at 6pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10 at 11am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating.
Concluding service cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Inurnment will take place at Fort Bayard National cemetery on Wednesday, March 11 at 1pm.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Arellano, Joey Arellano, Rigoberto Rodriguez, Alex Montes, Jack Barragan David Anthony Altamirano.
