Guadalupe “Lupe” G. Martinez

Guadalupe “Lupe” G. Martinez, 99, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Friday, August 7, 2020 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

She was born July 2, 1921 in Santa Rita to Angel and Sylvia Garcia Martinez. Lupe liked cooking, sewing, gardening, traveling, crossword puzzles and her Spanish Novelas.

She loved her family and spending time with all her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jose Cruz and wife Phyllis; six grandchildren, Gloria Jean Martinez, Richard Nieto (Carolina), Yvonne Gomez (Ruben), Patricia Jackson and the late (John Jackson), Pam Cruz companion Leslie, Christopher Cruz (Lucy); eighteen great grandchildren and twenty great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Elizabeth Cordova; two brothers, Isaias and Seferino Martinez; three sisters, Bonifacia Castañon, Elvira Gonzales, and Elifonsa Vasquez; two great grandchildren, Josiah Roybal; Dane Cruz.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 13th from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Deacon David Castañon to begin at 6pm.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 14th at 10am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Casmir Anozie officiating.

Concluding service, cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Inurnment will take place at Santa Clara cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Huerta, Jace Jackson, Toby Martinez, Steven Roybal, Isaiah Cruz, Daniel Roybal, Adien Martinez, and Gabriel Nieto.

Honorary pallbearers will be all family and friends. COVID-19 restrictions are still at 25 capacity and masks required.

​Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory.

Dear Lupe and Trish Jackson, change I am sorry to hear the loss of John I pray for you and the girls and your son. John Jackson was definitely the best guitar player guitar player I ever met. Truly inspiring and madly in love with his wife Trish. Lupe thank you for all the wonderful memories oh my childhood and for being a grandma to me and my family. I love you all very much God bless you and know that the Camarena family is with you in prayer wishing you comfort from our heavenly father. Lupe your family is the love that you built and they are beautiful. Your classy honest strict loving scolding s served me well. Now your home with Lizzy my hero strongest hardworking single brave sweet etc my role model and best mom sister daughter I ever met my heros Lizzy n Lupe best mom's and friends ever.
