Dolores Rendon Flores, A beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend was Welcomed Home on a glorious day, November 3, 2020.

She was born to Monico and Seferina Rendon on February 28, 1942. She was a woman of many wise words who was always there to bring us laughter and inspiration. We would love to sit around and listen intently on the stories she enjoyed sharing especially of her childhood. You can bet there was always a lesson thrown in on every story. Many looked to her for advice on everything in life from family and friends to the many clients she took care of in the span of the 52 years in her tax preparation business for whom she always had a smile on her face while saying, “There is no charge for talking!” A business she became an owner of during a time when a business owned by a woman was unheard of much less a Hispanic woman. She built that business, along with her husband’s support, from the little office downtown, now known as the Silver Boot and Shoe Repair, to the three suite office building that houses the H&R Block, 360 Apparel and More and the MVD office. She had a mind for business and investments and was a very hard-working woman who never settled for anything less than she deserved. She was a boss in the very sense of the word and taught us to work hard for whatever we wanted in life to appreciate what we earned. She could make a meal out of anything in nothing flat. Enough to feed an army and it was always delicious. We are sure she is singing with the Angel’s choir because she had a beautiful voice. She always had a saying for everything and we will always remember her words of wisdom and the many family trips we were all honored to share because of her. Most prominent is the 3 cars, 17-person, 2-week road trip to Florida and the 2 cars, 9-person, 2-week road trip to Dollywood plus the many trips to Las Vegas, NV with memories to last a lifetime.

Dolores married her high school sweetheart, Caesar, on July 11, 1959 and together they raised a strong, close-knit family of four. 3 daughters that went with her everywhere, Corinne, Lillian and Vivian aka “The 4 Sisters” and her Pride and Joy, her only son, Danny, named after her brother/ best friend who passed at the young age of 17. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Maria, Eric, Patrick, Michele, Candida, Andrew, Caesar, Monica, Fabian and Mikayla, 10 great-grandchildren, Josiah, Ernie, Izaias, Marijayne, Amariss, Bentley, Ezmia, Particio, Jaelynn, and Alaia. She was like a mom to many of her nieces and nephews and many other friends of her children that they would bring home, especially Monchie Morales. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Helen and Ida, 1 brother, Manny and many people who were very special to her. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her in-laws, 2 brothers, a special son-in-law Ernie Escobar, and other family members. Even though our world seems darker, Heaven is definitely shining brighter. Her absence will definitely be felt by all who knew and loved her. Hug your loved ones closely and never hold a grudge! Life is too short!

Visitation will be Friday, November 6th from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga to begin at 6pm.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 7th at 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating.
