Included on the agenda is action on the Deming High School campus master plan, as well as a resolution and proclamation of a special school bond election in February.
The election would put before voters a $27 million general obligation bond question for the purpose of erecting or remodeling school buildings; purchasing or improving school grounds; purchasing computer software and hardware for student use; and providing matching funds for capital outlay projects funded by the state.
Reportedly, the money would be used to build a new high school in phases where the current high school exists, and to build a new intermediate school in a separate location.
The election is tentatively set for February 4th.
Thursday’s meeting is set to begin at 5 p.m. at Columbus Elementary and is open to the public.
