Luna County once again had the highest unemployment percentage in the state, followed by Mora with 13.8%. Those were the only two New Mexico counties with double-digit unemployment.
Rounding out the top five counties with the highest unemployment rates in the state in November were Taos at 8.8%, McKinley at 8.3% and Guadalupe at 7.7%.
In our area, Grant County had 6.3% unemployment in November, Hidalgo County had 5.5% and the Las Cruces area had 6.6%.
The counties with the least unemployment were Harding and Los Alamos with 3.6% each.
The New Mexico labor force estimates show Luna County with a labor force of 12,063 – with 10,164 employed and 1,899 unemployed.
