Officials say the service is for wells serving homes not connected to a public water utility.
Water testing will be held this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 800 South Granite.
To collect a water sample, use a clean glass or plastic container that holds at least a quart of water; do not use containers that have strong odors, such as citrus or pickle jars.
Collect the sample before any water treatment systems such as reverse osmosis systems, water softeners or carbon filterers.
Let the water run for a couple of minutes before collecting the sample.
And collect the sample as close to the time of testing as possible.
If available, please provide information on well depth, depth to water, well casing material such as steel or pvc, and distance from well to the nearest septic tank or leach-field system.
Drinking water will be testing on site for Electrical Conductivity, Fluoride, Iron, Nitrate, pH and Sulfate.
