19-year-old Omar Barrera was charged with aggravated battery and tampering with evidence after he allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old man in the head with two different knives.
Deming Police Chief Brandon Gigante said the wounds were superficial and required staples, but did not appear to be life-threatening.
Gigante said the incident happened at a mobile home off East Fourth Street at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim said Barrera fled on foot after the attack, and officers found him walking near Milo Park.
The fight reportedly was the continuation of an altercation several days prior that may have involved graffiti near the t-ball fields.
