Hospital CEO Kelly Duke said a lot of people experience at least one chronic wound annually, and many of those wounds refuse to heal despite conventional treatment.
Duke said the new wound care clinic with feature a multidisciplinary staff trained in wound care who will evaluate patients for all possible physical conditions, such as diabetes, that could interfere with proper healing.
He said the care team will follow evidence-based clinical pathways to determine why wounds are not healing and then develop individual treatment plans, utilizing the most effective technologies available, to provide maximum healing and relief.
The hospital’s wound care clinic is open each Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
