The program asks for donations of new or gently used coats to be distributed to school children in need of warm clothing.
Organizers said they have had an increasing response to donations during the first few years of the program, and last year they decided to place a school bus at Wal-Mart to raise visibility for the program.
Thanks to the response, they’ve decided to do it again this Saturday.
The bus will be near Wal-Mart from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and everyone is encouraged to drop off new or gently used coats of all sizes -- even adults -- because they have high school
students in need, too.
They also accept cash donations so they can purchase coats in the sizes needed when they run
short.
Donations will be accepted Saturday as well.
In past years they have distributed coats the week before Thanksgiving before the extremely cold weather hits.
Deming Radio personality Danny Rodriguez will be broadcasting live from 11-1 from the local event on KDEM 94.3FM and KOTS 1230AM
