
The Silver City school signed agreements with universities in Nuevo Leon and Chihuahua that outline collaboration and the possibilities of faculty and student exchanges.
The university in Chihuahua is the larger of the two schools, and reportedly has more than 25,000 students.
Under the agreements, both schools will work on joint research activities and publications as well as the exchange of scholars to participate in conferences and symposiums.
Western New Mexico University is based in Silver City, with branches in Deming, Lordsburg, Truth or Consequences and Gallup.
