Nineteen-year-old Gerardo Jaramillo was spotted by a Deming Police patrol officer Saturday night in the area of Maple and Juarez streets.
Jaramillo, who was wanted on charges including kidnapping, aggravated battery and robbery, allegedly forced two people in a vehicle to drive him from Deming to Palomas, Mexico, where he escaped from Deming Police, Luna County Sheriff’s and Mexican officers.
When the two people walked back across the international boundary to Luna County, authorities realized that one of them had been stabbed in the upper right arm.
Their vehicle was returned by Mexican authorities who reported that Jaramillo had eluded them.
