Officials said the stocking of store shelves is estimated to begin the last week in July, and they hope to have the doors open in early August.
The store, under construction in the 100 block of North Gold, is 16,510 square feet and will house a drive-thru pharmacy.
The project reportedly is a $3.5 million investment in Deming, and is creating 20 full-time jobs and 10 part-time jobs. Annual sales are projected in the neighborhood of $3 million.
Bencor, LLC, a real estate developer, has been overseeing the construction by Wilger Enterprises out of Albuquerque. Construction began in January.
Again, Walgreens officials are hoping to open the Deming store in early August.
