
Luna County Clerk Andrea Rodriguez said interested eligible residents may register in her office on the first floor of the Luna County Courthouse, 700 S. Silver Ave., or online at www.nmvote.org.
The deadline to register is 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8th.
Tuesday, Oct. 8th, also will be the first day a voter may cast a paper absentee ballot or vote on an electronic voting system in the clerk’s office.
Four school board positions will be on the ballot.
In District One, incumbent appointed member Patricia “Tris” McSherry is being challenged by Billy Delaney and Daniel Krowl.
Amy Delaney-Hernandez, who was recently appointed to serve on the school board, is the only candidate on the ballot for District Three.
Incumbent William Bayne Anderson is the only person on the ballot in District Four, although he is being challenged by write-in candidate Lorraine Dominguez.
And Kenneth William Teague is the only candidate on the ballot for District Five.
Three Deming Soil and Water Conservation District board members are running unopposed for reelection.
The District One candidate is Rick Holdridge, the District Two candidate is Dianna Peterson, and the District Five candidate is Seth Hyatt.
Also, the Deming Public School district will have a two-mill levy question on the ballot.
