
If you are not currently registered to vote in Luna County and would like to vote in the November election, you must register by close-of-business Tuesday, October 7th.
Remember, if you are new to Luna County, or have changed your name, address or political affiliation, you must re-register.
This coming Tuesday, October 7th, also is the first day a voter may cast a paper absentee ballot or vote on an electronic voting system in the clerk’s office.
The last day for early voting is Saturday, November 1st.
Voters also may request an application and absentee ballot be mailed to them.
The last day the clerk may mail an absentee ballot to an applicant is Friday, October 31st.

Contested local races on the general election ballot include Sheriff, County Commission Districts One and Two, Magistrate Judge and State Representative District 32.
Two of the races – Sheriff and County Commission District 2 – are without incumbents.
The race for Luna County Sheriff pits Democrat John Mooradian against Republican Robert Santana. Incumbent Sheriff Raymond Cobos was ineligible to run again because of term limits.
And the race for County Commission District 2 pits Democrat Debra French against Republican Linda Smrkovsky. Incumbent Commissioner Jay Spivey was defeated by Smrkovsky in the primary.
Then County Commission District 1 incumbent Democrat Joe “Oleo” Milo is being challenged by Republican Edward Khanbabian.
Challenging Magistrate Judge incumbent Democrat Ray Baese is Republican Leeanna Rossi.
And State Representative District 32 incumbent Democrat Dona Irwin is being challenged by Republican Tom Bill Black.
Also, incumbent County Assessor Democrat Delilah Orquiz Rojo and incumbent Probate Judge Republican Delia Perez are running unopposed for second terms.
